Finding what you need
This site is designed to try to help you find what you need as quickly as possible and there are a few ways to do this:
- The fastest way to find something on our website is to use the Search box at the top of the page. You can enter any part of a title, author, or ISBN to search our stock or you can search by author and title only by clicking on the arrow next to Keyword. New book stock is being added continuously as books are published, not all non-book stock appears on our website, but we have added a selection and will be adding more regularly. If there is something that you’d like to see on our website, please let us know.
- Browse the Categories on the left of the page and click on the sub-categories to find the best match. You may then page through all the items in your selected category.
The ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is unique to every book, and to a particular edition of that book. The ISBN had traditionally been made up of 10 numbers (entering this number will return just one result), however a new edition will also have a new ISBN, so checking on the author or title is also often worthwhile. The ISBN has changed to a 13 digit number in order to accommodate the number of titles being published, and usually start with 978… for book titles.

O’Mahony’s make custom-fit transparent covers for your books that protect against dust, grime, UV Rays, wear and tear. No Glue or Adhesive is used on the book and the cover is completely removable and can be re-used.
We also include some blank labels for you to fill in to attach to the plastic covers.
We currently cover all books within the schoolbooks category, if you'd like a non-school book covered, leave a note in the comment box and we'll cover it for you.
We are now offering Custom Designed Labels for your books, click on Special Services on the right hand side of any screen.

Book Formats
Books come in 3 main formats- Hardback, Trade paperback and Paperback (also known as mass market paperback). Hardback books frequently come with dust jackets and have rigid protective covers made of cardboard and covered with either cloth, heavy paper or even leather. Trade paperbacks are the same size as hardbacks but are significantly cheaper as they have a soft (light cardboard) cover (paper quality may also be less). Often Hardbacks and Trade paperbacks are published at the same time. Paperbacks are published 3-9 months after a book is first published in hardback or trade paperback and they are generally significantly smaller and cheaper. Mixed Media are usually a combination of CD and Book, or DVD and book.
