One of the best work of fantasy writing without a doubt. In the world created by George R.R. Martin there is no good versus evil. There is no main protagonist, and you never know when a character may meet his or her demise. Each chapter is narrated by a different character, and characters you initially loath through the eyes of others, you may start to feel sympathy and understanding towards when they narate. I am confident in HBOs ability to turn these books into an epic television series, but as the cliche goes: it can never be as good as the books.
