This is a photographic collection depicting and documenting the social & economic history of a rural parish in East Limerick. There are almost three hundred pages of fascinating images, spanning over a century. Also interspersed among the photos are articles of local and general interest. Doon is renowned as a centre of education; in the past, both the Christian Brothers and Sisters of Mercy managed day and boarding schools, with students coming from all corners of Ireland, and there are numerous photographs and articles depicting daily life, including class groups in this publication. These congregations and schools were interwoven into the socio-economic fabric of the parish.
