This monograph introduces the Carlow-born artist, Frank O'Meara (1853-1888), who studied in Paris under Carolus-Duran, and spent twelve years in the village of Grez-sur-Mer, painting en plein air. Grez was a hub for plein-air painting in the 1880s, and attracted artists from around the world. This is an extensively illustrated book, telling the story of a somewhat overlooked but extremely talented Irish artist.
