Twilight Saga Book 1 : Twilight
[9781904233657]

by Stephenie Meyer
Children, Age 15+ Young Adult - Twilight Saga Book 1 : Twilight
Paperback

When 17 year old Isabella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father she expects that her new life will be as dull as the town. But in spite of her awkward manner and low expectations, she finds that her new classmates are drawn to this pale, dark-haired new girl in town. But not, it seems, the Cullen family.

These five adopted brothers and sisters obviously prefer their own company and will make no exception for Bella. Bella is convinced that Edward Cullen in particular hates her, but she feels a strange attraction to him, although his hostility makes her feel almost physically ill. He seems determined to push her away until, that is, he saves her life from an out of control car.

Bella will soon discover that there is a very good reason for Edward's coldness. He, and his family, are vampires and he knows how dangerous it is for others to get too close.

Readership:Teenage / Young Adult
As reviewed by Ethan, 6th Class, for World Book Day 2009
The thrilling story of Twilight is written by Stephanie Meyer. When Isabella Swan moves to a wet and dreary town called Forks to live with her father, she meets a strange person called Edward Cullen. Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret.
I thought Twilight was an excellent book. I would rate is 10 out of 10.

A guilty pleasure.

I read this series out of curiosity and was glad I stuck with it through the end. When it veered toward the melodramatic side, I reminded myself that teenagers are the target audience.

Another example where the book is better than the movie.

World Book Day Competition Entry for Category 4 - Book Review: Fourth Class to Sixth Class.
Isabella Swan is a seventeen year old girl that lives wither mother in Phoenix because her parents are split up. Bella decides to live with her dad Charlie in Forks, which means a new school, new friends and a new house. On Bella's first day of school she meets several nice kids like Mike and Jessica, but then she meets the Cullen's, there was something about them. The way they walked the way they spoke and looked. Initially it seems that Edward Cullen despises Bella but we soon realise it's the opposite. After some exciting adventures Bella discovers Edward's secret. But I'll leave it up to you to discover what it is!
Twilight is a romantic novel with a supernatural twist. I really enjoyed this book and I give it 5/5. I would recommend this book for anyone ages 11 and upwards.
