Prices

All prices listed on this Website are in Euro currency. All prices include VAT(Value Added Tax) where appropriate, books are VAT exempt, all other products include VAT at the standard rate of 23% (stationery, gifts, jigsaws, DVDs, and Book Covering), or at 9% (maps). O'Mahony's Booksellers has taken great care to ensure prices are accurate. Prices may change over time, so if you use your cart or wish list within 'My account' as a way of ordering items, prices, availability, special offers may have expired or changed since your last login. However, the correct price will be applied when you select an item, and add it to your cart and the correct price will be on your printed Order Confirmation.

Prices and Promotions you see on www.omahonys.ie may differ to prices and promotions in any of our stores, and vice versa.

Your Profile

You may not transfer your profile to another person, share it with anyone, or use it to impersonate anyone. You agree that you will provide us with accurate profile information (such as your real name, contact number, valid e-mail and delivery addresses), and accurate, non-fraudulent payment information. O’Mahony’s may delete your profile if we are unable to verify or authenticate the information you provide to us. Profiles may only be created by individuals who are able to enter into legally binding and enforceable contracts.

It is our policy not to sell products for purchase by children. We sell children's products for purchase by adults. If you are under 18, you may use the O’Mahony’s Online website only with express permission and involvement of a parent or guardian.

Order Acceptance Policy

Order acceptance and the completion of the transaction will take place on the dispatch of the products ordered to you unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it in accordance with our cancellation policy.


Non-acceptance of an order may be a result of one of the following:

  • Non-availablity of a product or products
  • Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment
  • A valid contact number must be provided on all orders
  • You not meeting the eligibility to order criteria set out in the main Terms and Conditions.

If there are any problems with your order, we will attempt to contact you via email or by phone.

We reserve the right to reject any offer to purchase by you at any time. Your card will charged when we receive your order.

Professional Book Covering Service

Machine cut covers, no Glue or Adhesive is used on the book and the cover is completely removable and can be re-used. You get a custom-fit transparent cover that protects against dust, grime, UV Rays, wear and tear.
These covers are very strong and durable to protect and extend the life of books. To avail of our Book Covering Option, please place an item in your cart. We currently cover most books within the schoolbooks category, if you'd like a non-school book covered, leave a note in the comment box and we'll cover it for you. Some book format or sizes are not suitable for covering. The option to cover your books is available when you click on VIEW CART before you Check Out.
Please note that if a book belongs to a set, we only cover the book and not the workbook.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel any order placed with O’Mahony’s Booksellers online provided that the order has not yet been dispatched. To cancel an order, please forward your order confirmation email  with CANCELLATION in the subject field and you will receive a refund within 14 days provided the order hasn't been dispatched. If the order has been dispatched, you may return your complete order within 14 days from date delivered for a full refund including standard delivery charges (overseas delivery charges are not classed as standard delivery and therefore are not refunded), the refund will be processed only after the goods are received back to O'Mahony's Booksellers. Goods need to be in original packaging and in a saleable condition (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact). The returned parcel must include the invoice and your contact details.

Discount & Coupon Codes

From time to time as part of a promotion we may offer customers a percentage off our products or a coupon code. Percentage off offers on our website are calculated automatically during the order process.

The coupon  applies to the cost of the products and delivery charges are excluded. A maximum of one coupon may be used per order and a coupon may only be used once. The full coupon amount should be used - no refunds will be given for partial use. Coupon codes must be used before the expiry date and can be used only on the categories specified for that particular offer. You must enter the full coupon code during Checkout (for example, VMA123456789012345). The coupon discount will only appear when you have entered a valid coupon code on checkout for valid categories before charging the balance due, you will see the deduction on the Order Confirmation Page (prior to ticking Terms & Conditions). If you try and use a coupon code for invalid categories or below a minimum value, a red line will prompt you to amend your order so that you can checkout. Coupons cannot be redeemed for cash or credit.

Book tokens and O'Mahony's Gift vouchers cannot be purchased with any discount offer/voucher.

It is possible that some books may sell out prior to your order being filled, and or that stocks are limited, while we endeavour to re-order stocks at the price that you ordered (where there is a discount offer, it may not be able to match that price again), we will notify you in the event that we need to re-order stock. There are limited quantities of items on Special Offer, avail of special offers while stocks last.

School Accounts

When you fill out our online School Account Application form, you will receive an automated email acknowledging receipt of your application, when your School Account has been set up on our website, we will contact you with login details so that you can commence shopping online with us.

Please contact us for quotes on bulk discounts. Where bulk quantities are required on items that we have as Web Specials, we usually only have limited quantities in stock and may not be able to maintain those special prices on subsequent orders.

All School Account orders under €125 will be subject to a charge of €5.99 per order. School account customers may also use the Store Pick-up option.

Hampers

Every effort will be made to ensure that the items in your hamper are exactly as described, however, on occasion, we may need to substitute an item with an item of either equal or greater value.

Delivery

We aim to keep our keep our delivery costs as low as possible while getting you your order promptly and efficiently. We use Nightline Ireland for parcels within Ireland and An Post (Ireland’s national postal service) for small packages within Ireland. All overseas deliveries are done via courier or An Post.

Normally, our aim is to dispatch orders within 2 working days within Ireland and delivery is 2-5 working days from date despatched (you will receive an email saying that your order has been despatched). We will hold your order until we have everything in stock.

You will receive emails from us updating the status of your order so keep an eye on your emails.

To ensure a speedy delivery, why not deliver to your work address? If you enter a home delivery address, please ensure that there is someone there to take in the delivery (a signature is required).

Pre-ordering Books that are Not Yet Published
We do one delivery per order, if you are ordering a book(s) that is Not Yet Published along with books that are in stock, we will automatically hold the complete order unless otherwise instructed by the customer. Where a customer wants a split delivery on an order, an additional delivery charge will be applied on the second delivery. Please note that Publication dates can change and we endeavour to keep these as up-to-date as possible with information supplied by publishers.

It is our company policy to re-use and re-cycle packaging where possible.

Collection In store

If you choose to use our free In Store Collection Service from our O'Connell Street shop in Limerick city, please bring your confirmation email and the credit card that the order was placed with for verification. We will send you an email confirming that your order is ready for collection, during the months of June, July and August, please allow 5-10 working days for your order. Please call to our Limerick Shop between the hours of 9am and 5.45pm, Monday to Saturday or on Sunday between 1pm and 5pm.

Collection from Tralee, Ennis & University of Limerick

You will receive an email when your order has left our Limerick Branch and you will receive another email to let you know when it has arrived in Tralee, Ennis or the University of Limerick. Please don't call to the branch without receiving an email as we don't want you to be disappointed. Please bring your confirmation email and the credit card that the order was placed with for verification. During the months of June, July and August, please allow 5-12 days working days for your order.

Overseas Deliveries

The price for overseas deliveries take the following factors into consideration: weight and size of the items, the number of items and the delivery address.

Delivery to the UK - our aim is to despatch orders within 24 hours and delivery is normally 3-7 working days from date despatched to the UK (you will receive an email saying that your order has been despatched). Priority post will incur an additional charge, please contact us for details.

Delivery within the EU-our aim is to despatch orders within 24 hours and delivery is normally 3-12 working days from date despatched to countries within the EU (you will receive an email saying that your order has been despatched). Priority post will incur an additional charge, please contact us for details.

Delivery (Rest of the World)- our aim is to despatch orders within 24 hours and delivery is normally 5-12 working days from date despatched to the rest of the world (you will receive an email saying that your order has been despatched). Priority post will incur an additional charge, please contact us for details.

Shortages/Issues with items supplied

It's important that every product is carefully and thoroughly inspected by you immediately upon delivery. Any shortage/issues on the delivery must be reported within 24 hours of delivery via email. O'Mahony's will not be responsible for any shortage not reported within 24 hours and by the advised method. Information on how the shortage/issue will be resolved will be communicated via email.

Returns Policy

O'Mahony's endeavor to ensure that the condition of every product listed on this website is as described in those listings.

If you are dissatisfied for any reason, you may return your purchase within 14 days for a refund by post (delivery charge will not be refunded). Goods need to be in original packaging and in a saleable condition (with any seals and shrink-wrap intact). The returned parcel must include the original order reference and your contact details (the order reference is the 5 digit number at the top left hand side of your invoice). The cost of book covering or delivery charges are not refunded where the customer decides to returns items. The cost of Custom Made Labels are non-refundable where the customer decides to return or cancel items and the labels have been generated (the option to have them sent on will incurr a Postage Charge).We recommend that you use a recorded delivery service, as we cannot be responsible for non-delivery of returned items. If you require additional items, a new order will need to be placed on our website.

Books purchased for Back to School (schoolbooks only) between June 1st and August 31st can be returned up to the 14th September for exchange or credit to your online account.

Customers must report any damages by email within 24 hours of delivery i.e. scratches, dents or tears. It’s important that every product is carefully and thoroughly inspected by you immediately upon delivery. O’Mahony’s will not be responsible for any damages not reported within 24 hours.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the correct products are delivered to you, occasionally mistakes can happen. In the event of O’Mahony’s having to send you a replacement product, you must return the original item to O’Mahony’s within 7 days of receiving the replacement product which will have a prepaid return envelope enclosed. O’Mahony’s reserves the right to charge the price of the replacement to the payment card used for the original order if the item is not returned within 7 days. If you decide to keep the original item, just email us and we will charge the cost of the item to the card you used to place the original order.

Cancellation or return of items purchased with a coupon may result in the forfeiture of such coupons.

By purchasing from O’Mahony’s, you agree that a full refund with paid delivery will be your sole and exclusive remedy for any product you receive that is not as described on the O’Mahony’s website, and you waive all other remedies or actions in such event. This does not affect your statutory rights.
