Where the Wild Things Are is children's picture book classic written in 1963 by Marcus Sendak. It follows the imaginery adventures of a boy named Max, who after a fight with his mother imagines sailing away to the land where the wild things are.

The book has been made into a major motion picture directed by Spike Jonze. Starring Forest Whitaker, Mark Ruffalo, James Gandolfini, and Catherine O'Hara, among others.

This book is used in the Building Bridges of Understanding Programme. It is a recommended picture book for supporting children's use of Visualising for Infants to 2nd Class level.
